A 42-year-old woman usually faces every life event with energy. One day she discovers she is pregnant and it is a miracle: something expected. Indeed, for some time. Countless emotions are unleashed in her: joys and fears, expressed by writing indelible memories. The dialogue with her unborn child is immediate: it is a girl who she decides to call Rachele. Her love for her is infinite: there are no words to describe it. The story of the difficult pregnancy is fluid but, at the same time, detailed, as if every time you see a tear fall from the face of the poor mother, who already knows everything that will happen, despite living with light and believing in hope. After all, Rachele’s heart is alive and lively: a sign that she wants to live! But in that hospital room where her mother is hospitalized to give birth there is her immobility: caused by a pain that seeks comfort and clings to the sky; to that nature in which the woman, every day, searches for her baby: in the clouds, while watching the sunrise with her. Rachele seems really unwilling to detach herself from her mother: she’s fine inside her, she’s safe. This is a very strong image. In her caresses given to her daughter there is courage, strength but also a lot of tenderness. The after will be something lacerating: it reaches the reader in an incisive way, as something that “cuts”, because it describes the loss of Rachel, devastating in all being. Each part of the text is marked by dates and times, like a secret diary of the soul that the protagonist writes and keeps to externalize every emotion and pain felt. The loss of Rachele cannot fail to involve a long journey of rebirth, before starting to live again. A path marked by a new certainty that transpires clearly from the text: Rachele is born and dies and so is her mother, who dies with her but is then reborn and cleansed her entire life. In pain, the woman will understand how people really are and how, for some, the pain of others is comparable to the plague, something to be avoided; for others, indeed a few, there is full sharing. These are true friends, rare treasures. And this is how the reflection begins, the awakening, with the full awareness that it will take time but the first steps have already been taken, thanks to Rachele's teachings that she has given a lot of strength to her mother. A strength that has allowed her to set up an association that has the same name as her, to be of help to those who have not yet managed to be reborn.
